Ekta Yatra of Guj Govt to cover more than 10 thousand village ahead of inauguration of world’s tallest statue of Unity
While the “Statue of Unity” world’s tallest statute (182-metre) will be launched by prime minister Narendra Modi on this 31st October, the government of Gujarat has decided to make the launch of this national landmark memorable. Gujarat Government is organising “Ekta Yatra”, which will cover all the districts of Gujarat.
Specially designed “Ratha” will travel across the villages of Gujarat to commemorate the inauguration of the Statue of Unity and make it more memorable which will also communicate & reinforce the present-day relevance of Sardar Patel’s message and spread the message of communal harmony for a strong and united India. More than 10,000 odd villages of Gujarat to be covered through specially prepared raths between October and November during Ekta Yatra.

Essay, quiz and debate competitions about Sardar Patel’s life would also be organised as a part of the yatra. Videos about Sardar Patel’s life, and about the Statue of Unity project, would be shown to the masses during the yatra.
The digital platform which www.ektayatra.com which was launched by Gujarat CM has all the necessary details of Ekta Yatra including the district’s route of the yatra. The website also contains the rare photographs of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patela and the details of his immense contribution of uniting 562 princely states with mainstream India after the British Raj came to an end.
With various such initiative, the inauguration of the world’s tallest statute will be a memorable international event reflecting the idea of unity.
