GNFC Township Sets Example, Goes 100% cashless after PM Narendra Modi’s Clarion call

On 8th November, 2016, Hon. Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi gave a clarion call to delegalize the legal tenders of 500 and 1000 INR to fight terrorism and Black money. Resurgence of India began right from the moment demonetisation was declared. In the quest to make India better it became the responsibility of every citizen to make it huge success.

The story Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizer and Chemicals ltd. is leading the chart of implementing cashless society and the credit goes to Dr. Rajiv Kumar Gupta, MD GNFC for his vision. GNFC was geared up for its contribution towards Cashless society, they not only planned to enable it’s township with Cashless system but took novel initiatives to popularize digital transactions among villagers & farmers.

Efforts were good enough to draw the attention of Prime Minister. PM Modi spoke about the efforts of GNFC towards implementation of Cashless Society in 27th Edition of Mann Ki Baat on 25th December, 2016. The efforts of Implementing cashless Society doesn’t end here, Dr. Rajiv Kumar Gupta led GNFC went on to become first 100% cashless Township of India.

GNFC Township has become role model for many in India. Be it anybody Panwala, Chaiwala, Dhobi, Barber or the fruit vendor everyone is using digital mode of payment. The Case study was presented to NITI AAYOG, The National Institution for transforming India. NITI AAYOG Declared “GNFC Township” as “Role Model to corporate”.

On 13th February Hon. Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Vijay Rupani inaugurated India’s first 100% cashless township of India. Shri Rupani in his address said that “This Initiative will help fulfilling the dream of Digital India”. Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Labour and Employment was also present. He congratulated all the employees of GNFC and residents of Township for this remarkable feat.

All the retailers, distributors of GNFC across India have gone cashless. The efforts are remarkable, Kudos to TEAM GNFC and the Management lead by Dr. Rajiv Kumar Gupta.
